The watercolours shown on this Web site are no longer available for purchase from the artist, We have left the illustrations of her artistic creations on this web site solely for the viewing enjoyment of site visitors.

In May 2009, Doreen decided to donate all of her unsold watercolours to an organization that will use them to raise money for leukemia research in Canada. She made this decision despite the fact that her creative talent has been widely recognized and purchased by art lovers across Canada as well in the United States, Great Britain and Australia.

Doreen's motivation to start painting watercolors in 1999 was a result of being diagnosed with colon cancer - and undergoing an operation that kept Doreen from her work as a full-time graphic and layout design artist for many months. As a form of therapy while undergoing chemotherapy, she decided to pursue watercolor painting. Doreen developed a love and passion for this particular type of artistic expression.

Unfortunately, Doreen has once again found herself afflicted with cancer - and this time the disease threatens to silence her creative talents. In November of 2008 after weeks of being very sick, Doreen was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. A stage four tumor in her small intestine caused her to have emergency surgery. She remained in the hospital for six weeks after that. Sadly, neither the surgery or the chemo that followed have eased the threat to her life.

Doreen's paintings have been showcased in numerous art shows and exhibitions. Some of her artwork has been made into limited edition prints or used to create Christmas and other greeting cards, primarily for use by various corporate clients who appreciate the creativity and originality of her artwork.

Doreen has two adult children. She spent more than 17 years working as a design and layout artist producing magazines, newsletters, pamphlets, etc.
